Welcome! Community FoodBank is a source of healthful groceries for about 5,000 people each month. Thanks to a robust network of partners and producers, most of the groceries we enjoy each week are organically grown nearby.

The FoodBank’s main office and warehouse are located at 1133 San Felipe Road in Hollister. There are lots of ways to join the cause for a healthier community. During construction, April – August, it is easiest to contact us by phone at (831) 637-0340 or email info@communityfoodbankofsbc.org, Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

We’re renovating to better serve our community!

After almost 28 years in operation, the FoodBank purchased its building last year. The Board of Directors officially approved Avila Construction of Monterey as lead contractor for a major renovation project and update of the FoodBank’s headquarters. It’s a re-imagination of what a food bank can be. In fact, it’s a building renovation for service innovation! Come back to this site often, because we’ll be sharing updates as they happen.

Updates

April 17 – 20:  DEMOLITION!  We said goodbye to our old office and warehouse space and started swinging the sledge hammers.

April 10 – 14:  Crews begin asbestos abatement.  In a building built in the late 70s, you can count on finding some asbestos.  In our building, a small percentage was hiding in the tile bathroom floors.

April 3 – 9:  FoodBank staff and volunteers help to move everything out of the entire building, to completely turn it over to Jeff Nohr, Project Manager for Avila Construction
