Letter carriers throughout San Benito County collected donations of groceries Saturday, in a very special delivery. Stamp Out Hunger is a national campaign conducted entirely by letter carriers. The food collected in San Benito County all went to Community FoodBank of San Benito, where it will be shared with thousands of your neighbors who need a little help.

When it was checked in at FoodBank, the groceries weighed 3,500 pounds — a very tangible sign of what a giving community we share. Nationwide, the effort passed the billion pound mark in collections in 2010.

Way to go carriers and to all of you who shared the bounty!
