August 2: Believe it or not but the indoor windows that were installed this week weigh 320 lbs each! The whole building is looking cleaner. The cooler is slowly getting filled with donations. It’s completely different from when this project was started and we’re looking forward to seeing how it changes next week!
The Agency Store (seen in the picture with an orange wall and glass doors looking out toward the parking lot) is also coming along nicely. The Agency Store (a.k.a. Nancy’s Store) is a resource for other non-profit organizations that dedicate themselves to helping our neighbors who are less fortunate.
While Community Food Bank does deliver groceries to customers directly, an essential part of the Food Bank’s role in the community rests in Nancy’s Store. The neatly organized room in the Food Bank’s warehouse is where Nancy meets customers every Tuesday and Thursday. People come in to shop for both fresh produce and packaged foodstuffs for their own nutrition programs.
