Food Bank of San Benito County features a Food prep table in packaging room

September 5: Why are we excited to have the first-ever prep and packaging room at Community FoodBank? It’s because — for the first time ever — we can repackage bulk goods into consumer-friendly quantities.

Earlier this year, Community FoodBank received a truckload of frozen, diced potatoes. Great! But they were in 30 and 40 pound boxes. That’s a lot of spuds!

Now, with the new packaging room, we can package commodities like those potatoes in consumer friendly servings, making it easier to reach deeper into San Benito County.
