The Hollister Safeway store’s “Hunger Bag” campaign is moving at a record-breaking pace! As of Dec. 3, San Benito County residents had filled 1,204 bags of groceries, all going to Community FoodBank. For $10, shoppers can donate a bag worth $30. The groceries are flowing in, just in time to bridge the winter gap when fresh produce is in shorter supply.

As a measure of our community’s generosity, consider these numbers for the same period: Felton, 377; Pacific Grove, 505; Carmel Valley, 602; Aptos, 841; and Burlingame, 926.

San Benito County really knows how to take care of its own!

Community Food Bank’s mission is to provide food, nutritional education and advocacy for our neighbors in need within San Benito County.
