Postal carriers across America pitched in for the National Association of Letter Carriers’ 26th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” campaign Saturday, May 12th. In Hollister, carriers returning from their routes brought back sack after sack of donated groceries, all destined for Community FoodBank. The story was being played out in San Juan Bautista as well.

Donations are still coming in, but already, the count from Hollister carriers alone is more than 2,000 pounds of food. The San Juan tally will be in on Thursday.

Carriers all over the country volunteer to support the effort each year, and all contributions are kept within the communities carriers serve. Last year’s effort produced more than 80 million pounds of groceries!
