Thanks to some judicious support from the folks at the San Juan Valley plant research labs, Bayer U.S. let Community FoodBank know this week that it’s in line for a $10,000 grant.
The funds are earmarked for the school Backpack Bags project. Throughout the school year, bags are given to elementary school students at participating schools each week. The bags contain enough for two breakfasts and lunches, and are intended to help kids bridge the nutrition gap they may face over the weekend, when school nutrition programs are closed.
It’s investments like Bayer’s that ensure a brighter future for San Benito County youth.
Community Food Bank’s mission is to provide food, nutritional education and advocacy for our neighbors in need within San Benito County.
